Foot Surgery
Ashleigh is qualified to carry out minor nail surgery under local anaesthetic to permanently correct chronic ingrowing toenails. Prior to any surgery taking place a full assessment and examination is carried out to decipher what procedure is required. Most commonly a procedure named a Partial nail avulsion (partial removal of nail from either side of the toe) is carried out using a chemical called Phenol which permanently removes that portion of the nail to ensure that no further issues develop. However, under certain circumstances the full nail has to either be temporarily or permanently removed to correct certain abnormalities that may present. If either of these procedures are required it will be discussed fully with Ashleigh in the clinical environment and a plan will be implemented.
